Christmas is approaching. This year I played the piano arrangement of an English traditional Christmas carol ‘God Rest Ye Merry, Gentleman.'
The title ‘God Rest Ye(You) Merry’ means 'May God grant you peace and happiness’
While arranging and playing this music, I felt the atmosphere of the song was strongly reminiscent of the Middle Ages in England and was far from stereotype style
クリスマスが近づいて来ていますね。今年はイギリスの伝統的なクリスマス・キャロルの「God Rest Ye(You) Merry, Gentleman」をピアノアレンジして弾いてみました。
「神様があなたに平安と幸福を与えてくださいますように」という意味のタイトルだそうです。
イギリスの中世を思わせる曲の雰囲気に新鮮さを感じつつアレンジして演奏しました。
